I want to extend a warm welcome to this poem home.
Enjoy your visit and I hope this will be a source of inspiration and encouragement.
Some of my roles include that of mother, grandmother and kindergarten educator (ret.).
Having composed songs for young children throughout my 27 years in the classroom,
I moved more into poetry following that period.
Please feel welcome to share these offerings with others as well.

Lightings, Soundings and Formings

Lightings, Soundings and Formings

Soft glow lights and heart-tuned smiles
stay stronger than the slyest wiles.

Earthborn notes and knowing ropes
move slowly past the slickery slopes.

Driving truths that speed their way
dawn the night and star the day.

Stagnant pools are left behind
so waterfalls can fill the mind.

Finding ways that stay the course
avoid the quicksands of remorse.

Sun filled hearts and star strewn souls
are not confined to any roles.

Reaching past the measured rulers,
fast frozen in their frigid coolers.

Going up to touch the sun
and finding open ways for fun.

Taking time for Solitaire
and just enjoy the being there.

And always knowing being true
means really being true to you.
